Funding opportunity arises for RLP partners
Thursday 3rd November 2011
A FUNDING opportunity has arisen for partners of the Regional Learning Partnership.
The Joint Information Systems Committee - Regional Support Centre (JISC RSC) Wales has announced a Technology for Learning Small Project Grant Programme – where funding is available for up to 10 projects worth £2,500 each.
This programme is aimed at supporting the provision of technology to enhance the quality of business, whilst also generating overall cost savings for the provider.
Applications are welcome from all JISC RSC Wales supported sectors - such as Higher Education (HE) institutions in Wales and Welsh Government-funded post-16 education and skills sectors, and are expected to focus on a range of learner cohorts and contexts.
Providers of adult education in the community, in the Further Education (FE), Local Education Authority (LEA) and voluntary sectors are all eligible to apply.
Examples of how funding may be utilised include procurement of mobile technologies, handheld devices, software, applications development/utilisation, personalisation etc.
JISC RSC Wales would also be interested in receiving bids which focus on enabling providers to make best use of learners' own technology, as well as bids which address issues associated with process review, digital literacy, e-safety, classroom management and management productivity.
Individual projects should address the implementation and evaluation of innovative approaches to the use of technology and will be expected to demonstrate how outputs have been used to inform strategic decision making and clear evidence detailing actual impact measures.
Successful applicants will be expected to produce an end-of-project report to be submitted by 8th June 2012 (this may be in the form of a case study) demonstrating tangible outputs and to contribute to the RSC Wales Summer Event 2012.
Applications open 13th October 2011, and close on 18th November 2011. Approval Notification will be 2nd December 2011 (subject to confirmation), and a Closing Report Submission on 8th June 2012, with the project dissemination week commencing 25th June 2012.
